Lets face it, journalists are power users- whether it’s Facebook or Twitter. Facebook reached out to the group first with “Facebook for journalists” . Twitter has now followed the suit with “Twitter for Newsrooms” – a complete guide on how journalists can use Twitter to find stories and engage with the readers. Right from reporting to publishing, Twitter is offering tools that help journalists communicate with the world a whole lot better.twitter for journalists Twitter Reaches Out To Journalists With Newsrooms

Twitter writes.,”We think Twitter and #TfN can be a kind of common ground—and we know Twitter is a tool all journalists can use to find sources faster, tell stories better, and build a bigger audience for their work.”

There are two things that stand out in Newsrooms: integration of Tweetdeck and effective use of its Search interface. Twitter is pushing its recent acquisition TweetDeck to be used as a continuously monitoring tool to search for subjects and people. It’s recently upgraded Search interface can come handy to construct specific queries around words, people and places. Also, its Advanced Search helps you zero in on specific angles of a news story. Applications that use the Streaming API, like TweetDeck and Twitter for Mac, allow you to track breaking news reliably across the newsroom.

While Twitter has always been a starting point for any journalist, aggregating reporting and publishing resources does make the process a whole lot faster.
